Are TalkTalk stealing PlusNet Customers (again)

[link to this post]

Hi All,

I have been contacted by one of my customers to say that she has switched over to TalkTalk and could I set her system up for it.

She informed me that TalkTalk said that the owned PlusNet and she could move over before her 18 months was up without any penalty and they would "take care of everything"

a) Is it true that PlusNet have been sold to TalkTalk?
b) Is it possible for them to transfer her without a MAC?
c) Can she expect further bils from PlusNet?

Our exchange has been LLUed by TT

Talk Talk haven't bought Plusnet from BT.

Some Talk Talk agents will say anything including porky pies to get folk to leave their current ISP, perhaps they have no scruples when it comes to making a sale.

She will get a bill from Plusnet if she owes them money that's for sure, she should look at PN's terms and conditions etc.

IMHO it sounds like this could be a case known as SLAMMING particularly if it also involves the telephony service too, if this turns out to be the case and as happened by mis selling or otherwise without the consent of the bill payer, then it should be reported to the relevant authority and both the original telephone provider and the isp , and get the switch reversed without charges , but if this person isn't bothered then theres nothing anyone else can do unless the same happens to them

Yes, this is something that Ofcom have recently stepped up their regulations against so I would be surprised but very interested to hear of any further instances of this.
