My gfast router stats

============================================================================
xDSL Training Status: Showtime
Mode: G.fast Annex A
Traffic Type: PTM Mode
Link Uptime: 0 day: 0 hour: 36 minutes
============================================================================
xDSL Port Details Upstream Downstream
Line Rate: 28.175 Mbps 160.251 Mbps
Actual Net Data Rate: 28.037 Mbps 159.891 Mbps
Trellis Coding: ON ON
SNR Margin: 3.2 dB 4.4 dB
Actual Delay: 0 ms 0 ms
Transmit Power: 4.0 dBm 0.0 dBm
Receive Power: 1.0 dBm 3.0 dBm
Actual INP: 540.0 symbols 550.0 symbols
Attainable Net Data Rate: 28.028 Mbps 186.263 Mbps
============================================================================

I can see Attainable Net Data Rate 186Meg down and 28Meg up. Good job I went for 160/30 happy overall. Don't need gfast 330/50 as I won't get it but strange engineer test kit say 158.99 M line length to the gfast cab from the socket. (I believe it won't be more than that because Attainable Net Data Rate would have been over 330/50).

Not complained at all.

I think engineer is wrong there. The line length didn't show it. It was actually 158.99 M data rate (that not line length lol)

Probably better to start posting about it in a different forum smile. Now we know it's working fine.

Sig and Profile to update too. Maybe a live BQM link in your sig as well? G.Fast BQMs aren't seen much.

I don't think that knowing somebody that knows somebody else that might have said something is really credible evidence that Gfast is iffy or hit and miss.

In reply to a post by RobertoS:
I don't understand why the new ISP wants a new line installing though. G.Fast normally simply replaces the FTTC on the existing copper, and should just need the new modem installing and the router connected to that.

I can't speak for this install, but we often install a new circuit for our customers, rather than deal with takeovers or other potential issues. It's not that big a deal if that's how it is done by this ISP.
