availability of " morro"

Does anybody know if Microsoft seurity software " morro" is included with win 7 ? If not, when will it be released?

If Offender and Don'tcare were anything to go by, I hope that it never sees the light of day.

Hi, Morro will not be as good as Free Avast! Even if Morro is free.

Don�t like the media player look, go to Avast �Program Settings� and uncheck [Enable skins for Simple User Interface] and you get a real plain easy to use interface.

Microsoft Security Essentials (Morro) was updated last week - and is working fine for me.

No - it definitely won't be included in Windows 7. The antivirus sellers would have a fit. But chances are at some point in the future once it is out of beta it will be available as an optional update through windows update.

Until then just google it if you want to download the software. Its light, plays nicely with my PC, isn't at all noisy and has had positive reviews so would definitely recommend giving it a try. Its nothing at all like One Care.

Thanks for your info. I shall remove mcafee from my new dell laptop, and install morro. The other posts seem to have condemed the software without trying it. I know that microsoft' recoed on antivirus software is not brilliant, but I have a feeling that morro may succeed.

I bet microsoft could spot the drool puddle coming from the EU antitrust board from redmond just at the idea of an antivirus included in windows 7.

I did test it and it failed on several fronts. However, it was a very early beta so I didn't feel able to comment on it. But, it's still in beta and there's no way that I would trust any of my systems or those that I administer to a beta product - Whoever that product is from.

........... but I have a feeling that morro may succeed.

Time will tell, but remember viruses have no feelings.
