what is avgsmaa.exe

I have just got the AVG pop up and it wants to allow avgsmaa.exe to access something, i have blocked it for now and all seems well, is it legitimate or not?

Are you CONFIDENT it was "avgsmaa.exe", as googling it shows absolutely nothing apart from your thread. the AVG at the start suggests AVG component to me, but lets not assume too quickly..

Sorry it was a "zone alarm" pop up but it did say it was "avgsmaa.exe", I tried google and a couple of security sites non came up with anything so i blocked it. confused

I didn't notice but it hasn't appeared again and i didn't click the box to not show the ZA alert again so hopefully it was just a glitch. wink

Windows has a useable search facility and ZA will have a record.
