Don't worry, I'm sure that the Openreach "£ngineer" will tell him. It's the first thing they say when you open the door.

Well there is a fault, I am fortunate in some respects that I have two line into the house and broadband on both.

The "good" line syncs 3.5 meg, the engineer checked and the physical route of both my lines is via the same cabinets back to the exchange.

The "bad" line is now syncing at exactly 2400kbps 51db 7db, it has be up for 28 hours.

The Openreach engineer ran out of time and was unable to explain the difference in sync speeds as at the cabinet, the bad line reports a higher attainable speed if that makes sense.

Question is what sync did he get at the cabinet?

If Sky LLU and 2400 sync at cab, then Sky DLM has put you on a fixed profile.

He said the speed at the cabinet should give me the 3.5Meg that was esitmated.

I have just had to unplug the router actually and it has resynced at.......

No idea what is going on to be honest now!!!

The 20dB noise margin is now 7dB, so you get more sync speed.

i.e. perhaps Sky has 'unfixed' your connection speed.

Just to share my experience with O2, showed a sudden increase in noise/errors/unstable syncs on the line over 3 weeks. Finally showed them it was nothing on the premises, router in test socket only tests etc.

BT engineer came round, tested the socket, found a crossover link causing high resistance on my line at my local cabinet, BT Wholesale engineer who was there weeks ago was made the scapegoat, in passing at least, problem fixed, O2 put me back on normal profile after I called them, sync back to normal from at it's worst 800kbps sync when I am now at full 8Mbit AND line now stable

Well all was well for about 150 hours and since then I have had lots sync events and I am back down to ........
