Thinking of Migrating

[link to this post]

After having an appaling time with the V21/Biscut merg, I find after three years of being with them, it's time to move on.

Biscuts takeover has been a shambles, and I'm sick of it all.

So, seeing as though we've been with Sky Digital since it came out, and the rather cheap cost of the MAX service, I think it's time to change to their BB service.

Couple of question though:

1. Reading a few threads, we apparently aren't allowed to use our own Routers - Would I be able to convince Sky to let me use mine?

2. Has anyone had any real problems with sky that wasn't sorted wthin a couple of days?

That's all. Thanks for your time.

Nope - but you can, but be fully aware you are against their terms and conditions and could have your account cancelled - your call

Loads of people have, about the same as any other ISP though, over 170k of users have been connected so far and the complaints are more vocal then success stories.

Go for it

I signed up last week and am due to be connected 28th December, if you want an unbiased opinion on my side of the story check back next week

Happy to be on freedom2surf - 4MB 50gb Cap on GW2

There have been many threads on this forum where people have had terrible experiences with Sky broadband, especially with migrations - but compared to the entire customer base for Sky BB, this is a minority and there are an overwhelming number of customers without issues.

I didn't have any issues with signing up to sky BB and dont have an issue with the supplied router. The connection is stable and giving me excellent speeds (although this will depend on the quality of your phone line and your distance from the exchange).

The way I see it, anything was better than my previous ISP, I;m just glad that this time round, I made the right choice!

I'm a happy bunny too!! Took about a week between ordering and being activated. Speeds are very good, much better than I expected in fact. I'm happy with the Sky router, connection has been stable so far and my wireless connection has improved too. Previous Belkin router stayed connected to the net but kept dropping the wireless link.

I was raesonably happy with my previous ISP but couldn't turn down 5 pm for up to 8 meg.

Just got connected on Sunday, to the 16meg unlinited service, which was 2 days later than expected.
As soon as I had plugged my router in I was upto full speed ahead and downloading at more than twice my 8meg max connection could handle.
Who can turn down a 15 quid saving and what should be a good service given Easynet's experience.
