should i contact sky?

Im not able to synch any faster than this:

Connection Speed 4320 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 6.9 db 14.0 db

should i contact sky or is it the attenuation figure?

Have you tried pluggin your router into the test socket behind the BT master socket?

That is usually the best indication of speed that you are going to get

yes.. gives the same

Thats about the best you can get then.

Normally the best speed is given a few days after your connection, ie the upload sometimes is assigned 416 up - depending what package you choose.

Did you expect a higher speed? or are just asking out of curiosity?

Theres mine for comparison, however I am not on Sky until 27th / 28th Dec

i was on 1mb, bt said there was no chance of 2mb. Ive seen a few posts with similar attenuation with higher speeds

What package are you on?

If BT say 1mb, tbh you have done well. It all depends on distance / wiring etc. You could live 500 metres from an exchange but it takes 2 miles to get the cable to you.

Your master socket test is about the best test to try in all honesty, rules out an internal wiring problem, if using the test socket. (the one inside to the right of the master socket)

I would say that is good as it gets then in that case, unless your line conditions improve.
