Thnking about Sky Max

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Thinking about getting sky max. Website says I'm good for all available packages.

I run a mailserver off my connection. Are there any restrictions to running your own email/web server on the sky/easynet network?

I read they there is no Static IP addresses handed out. Does any one know the lease time on the IP addresses ? I loose my connection every now and again. ISP say the connection is stable and that the NAT table in the router is probably overloaded. Don't want to buy a new router.

Is the connection truly unlimited without traffic shaping? I can see the connection getting used more and more (children growing up/IP telephony/On demand services etc etc).

Is there a one month contract or is it a 12 months only?

I'd rather here it from users of the service than from sky themselves. Just trust users more than people flogging me the service?

I'm sure I'll think of more but that'll do for now.

and just did.

Do I have to use the router sky supply or can I use my own one? What model do they supply anyway? Do you have complete control over the setup of the wireless router?

Thanks

B

you would get a new router anyway DG834GT (netgear) not sure about lease times but i've had a new one each connection

unlimited with fair usuage policy and no traffic shaping

12 months only

you can use your own router if needed and more or less ahev full control over the router.

hope this helps

Now on SKY Max LLU connection
