Don't Avoid $ky

[link to this post]

Support might be poor but alot of ISPs I have dealt with have not been any better.

However, where else can you get 12Mb download speeds, with low pings and a consistancy of service quality. And that is before I mention the 10 per mth. People should give Sky some credit.

If you want better call support you can pay AOL 30 per mth for 8Mb/s and they have wonderful support. There customer rating on this site is 3.5 stars exactly the same as $ky.

Overall, for 10 per mth $ky's service is just as good, if not better, than alot of other ISPs. If would be good if the knockers could be abit more objective when they post on this site.

Best regards,

Spot on.

Sky's BB is excellent, full speeds 24/7 on any protocol. For 10 a month it's brilliant and no wonder they're well on the way to 1million customers so quickly.

Only excellent if it works - I agree that is it very good value for money and a solid service but it must be SO frustrating if you are unable to receive it due to technical issues, because let's be frank, tech support doesn't come much worse that Sky's!!!

So what do you do if your shelling out 10 a month for a ADSL line that DOES NOT WORK.. Still value for money?

Basically have a proper read thru my post; I did meantion when sky adsl worked, it was great, better then great. But with all ISP one day you will have a problem.. then WTF do you do? Support aint gonna help you, maybe you can make your way down to the local exchange and try and fix the problem yourself?

Option 4
Direct Save Telecom 8Meg ADSL Service

Ex BSKYB MAX (Should be anywhere between 8 -16Meg). Currently hitting 6954mbps Ohwell atleast its pretty much unlimited.
..Sky ceased the line after 30days, reason? unknown to me, aswell as them..

Er, what post zeo? Are you on another thread somewhere?

Am I missing the point here, but people seem to be getting unnecessarily anti for no good reason - I read some of the longer threads on here and they seem to turn into a personal war!

IMHO of course

I must admit when my contract runs out on my bt business broadband contract I will be moving to sky. Providing they don't introduce fup and trafiic management , which when you consider every other ISP seems to be doing , will sky not do the same once it has it's client base ?

Apparently EasyNet have a potential 4Tb capacity on their network, which by current accounts is large, and coupled with Sky's plans to roll out Video / TV on demand one would think they have planned for capacity issues - hopefully
