You need to switch netgear modems to debug mode before using the DMT tool

You have to add the following as a Special Logon URL
/setup.cgi?todo=ping_test&c4_IPAddr=%26/bin/ash+-c+%27PATH%3D/bin%3A/sbin%3A/usr/bin%3A/usr/sbin%3B/usr/sbin/utelnetd+-d+-l+/bin/ash%27

If it is the Sky router then I think this should work

linky

If it is a Netgear router with standard firmware http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug this won't work on the sky firmware as it has been modified to ask for a login and the login command is broken.

You need dmt v8.06

>where do I add that url in the IE or somewhere in dmt?

In dmt, tick special logon
go to Special - Misc. options and enter the url in the Special Logon URL box

sky netgear dg834gt Firmware Version V1.02.28 .

Get to telnet though Command Prompt but can input user name but not password in command window.

and using windows Vista 32bit and have enable telnet though Programs and Features.

have added /setup.cgi?todo=ping_test&c4_IPAddr=%26/bin/ash+-c+%27PATH%3D/bin%3A/sbin%3A/usr/bin%3A/usr/sbin%3B/usr/sbin/utelnetd+-d+-l+/bin/ash%27

To special/misc.Options/special logon url still get error can not identify modemtype.
