What's happening here

Recently been having problems with my connection, it used to be stable up until the bad weather started (I'm in London so not really affected), but now my sync speed has deteriorated by about 3Mb/s, tonight I get back to lots of messages from RouterStats and have looked at it and found multiple changes of IP address, this is part of the log:

There's nothing unusual with those stats. If you have suffered a drop in speed, you need to contact Sky Tech Support.

I've already tried that without much success, they said they would up it 12Mb, that also doesn't answer the query about the changes to the IP address I'm suffering from, at about the same time I installed a new monitor which includes speakers, the router is on a shelf about 8 inches above it, could that be causing an interference.

Interference is unlikely, but it could be a faulty router. Ask Sky to send a replacement, or try another router of your own. It's fairly easy to extract the login details from the old router - see www.skyuser.co.uk/forum

it's not the router, I have 2 x v1 Sky routers, one with Netgear firmware, and the one that i'm presently using which is the GT834G v5, getting the same reults on all of them, the weird thing is that although my connection speed has decreased significantly, my download speed for newsgroups using newsLeecher has only dropped by about 0.2MB/s, so it's not really a big deal.

Just completed a total rewire moving the router well away from the computer room and completely rewiring the original master socket [^H^H^H^H^H I didn't say that], and am now back up to over 11 Mb/s, so something was definitely interfering.
