Port Throttleing

Is this still a problem with TT.

I do use Bit torrent, lime wire pro and play STEAM games along with BF2.

My biggest problem was with Steam. Plus as Steam doesn't just have gaming sync traffic, but you use the platform to update and purchase game etc, the amount of Traffic that TT's server software can assume is P2P is huge. Purchasing Sin Emergence and HL2 Episode 1 through Steam added more than 1.5GB to my install. TT's software sees this as P2P and flags those ports 27000-27050 accordingly. Throttling seems to increase in proportion to the amount you then download.

Ive found in my experience of various TT customers,

1) port throttling on gaming ports
2) Frequent disconnections - not losing line sync just getting disconnected from the network 6-10 times in an evening - this totally ruins any online gaming.
3) Very heavy P2P throttling - just dont even go there you'd be disappointed.

In short, TT is fine for the Wanadoo or BT Basic crew or even people that are using the internet for the first time. However if any of the above is relevant to you, I'd go look elsewhere.

How many times do we have to say it - 'You get what you pay for.....'
