The talktalk members forum seems a great resource for those with problems.
What happens when you cannot register as the forum does not recognise your phone number and account number?
- oh look there is a big red banner on the top of the screen - contact us to register.
What happens when everyone ignores the forms being sent in to register.
Is there any talktalk reps that can help?
Sadly i though talktalk were trying to improve customer support.
Here's hoping it takes less that a week for a response.

I thought my request had been ignored. It took 3-4 days before they replied and I could register, the system initially did not recognise my details.

here we are a further three days later and still totally ignored.
I have tried 3 attempts at the contact button.
Are there any talktalk admin hanging about here.

Register (or login) on our website and you will not see this ad.

Just give up and email direct to Dido Harding, that should produce a result.

The OCE`s at Talktalk Members forum work office hours and can take 3 working days plus to reply. It will take longer at weekends and bank holidays. I think you will get a reply but patience is needed. If you keep adding posts in the forum to a subject already posted it will keep get pushed to the bottom of the pile. SO post once and wait or lock the thread so no one else can post to your thread and get it religated to the bottom of the pile.
My personal experiences with the OCE`s is that once they pick up the problem they will do their best to solve it. Unfortunately there are more and more people using the forum now, because things do happen when reported there, but that means they have a bigger work load hence can take longer than they like to respond.

I think the OP's annoyance is that he cannot get onto the TT forum unless you register. If your details don't register when you request to join, you have to fill in another bit of a request for it to be looked at and its that what seems to take forever. Been there, got the t shirt.

Hi Spad,
The TalkTalk Members FOrum main page clearly states (red message) that you need to send the account and telephone number to the contact us form before you attempt to regsiter.
If customers neglect to follow this step registration will not be sucessful until they have done so. This ensures that only active TT customers are able to register on the forum, which reduces spam and increases the level of support we offer.
If the OP Follows the regsitration process in full this will be picked up and addressed in due course.

Mark

Hi Reset,
Validation usually occurs within 24-48 hours however at present the turnaround is 2 hours.

It's all very well and good having a form to fill in at the top of the screen but if your internet isn't working long enough to get the form where do you go next. Phone support is atrocious and keeps gong round in circles.
As a family we have 3 properties using talktalk, 1 of which is full LLU and has no problem, the other 2 are serviced via BT and the nice new shiny modems sent fail to work correctly by showing blocking action all the time and no one wants to help, just take the monthly fee.
As soon as the contact penalties are small enough all 3 lines will be migrated away to someone who will offer better service.
Currently considering an OFCOM complaint.

I notice you've only suggested how to register on the forum and haven't offered to try to sort out the issues he's having with his connections!

From pervious posts from Mark they are only willing to deal with problems via the forum or Twitter citing data protection.
Makes you wonder why they even have representation on other boards then.

Obviously doesn't understand PMs!
and then the talktalk's rep inbox would be flooded with PMs from every Tom, Dick and Harry...and 99% of them would not even be TT customers. The TT rep has made it very clear on how to register for your forum account using the 'contact us' option which works fine. But hey ho some people expect to be spoon fed
|
|
|
No - some people expect an ISP to be concerned if one of their users is having trouble and be pro-active in trying to sort it out.
I wasn't suggesting PMs TO the ISP - I was suggesting a PM from the TT rep to the user to establish contact. Trying to be helpful obviously isn't the TT way!

The TT rep made it VERY clear what the OP (or any other customer) has to do if they have problems registering on the TT forums. Not the TT rep's fault if people cannot follow this simple advice.

BUT the OP has made 3 attempts of using the contact us form and after 3 days TT still haven't responded by going though the steps stated on the website.
So perhaps TT should read what the OP posted rather than just hitting the copy and paste function from their PC,
Also it took over a week for a TT rep to even answer on this forum, not exactly speedy.

HI All,
All submissions to the contact us inbox are replied to within 24-48 working hours. There was a period of delay duirng the week of the bank holiday due to the extended weekend.
However in terms of our presence here, this is to provide general advice and to direct customer to our support platforms where necessary (i.e the TalkTalk Members Forum).
We do not operate via PM on third party sites as we do not control the data exchanged. This is prudence in our protection of our customers details. As such we have offered the OP support via the Forum (an official support platform) and advised exactly what steps need to be taken to register, as per all TT customers.
If the OP is still having trouble in registering after my previous comments on what steps need to be taken we would anticipate the OP would post back on this thread to say so. However at present the comments do not appear to be from the OP, although we have also assisted another custoemr via general advice on this thread. The OP's last comment was Tue 28-Aug-12 10:33:49 and it is likely the Contact Us form submissions have been picked up and the OP has sucessfully registered for support.

for any of you who have had to deal with data protection, you will realise TT can't trust even the PM section of a reputable website like this one.
