Recommend a wireless router please!

[link to this post]

Hi,

Can you guys recommend a wireless router which will work with talk talk LLU'd ?

I'm looking for a device which will be more tolerant with my line quality.

I am / was getting some disconnections, I'm not sure whether I'm still getting them, I think they may have gone.

I'm not so bothered if its an approved TT device.

I don't want to pay too much for it.

Thanks.

Id like to add to this that we also do not support the netgear router ourselves apart from basic troubleshooting e.g no sync.

Support is provided by netgear on a national rate number. It is up to netgear to diagnose any potential fault with the modem.

Please be aware, however, we do not offer technical support for modems/routers other than the ones we offer at our website www.talktalk.co.uk.

Actually, the only modems/routers that TalkTalk "officially" supports are:

Sagem f@st 800
Speedtouch 330
Huawei SmartAX MT882

none of which are wireless.

If you purchase a wireless router, even one from talktalk.co.uk or a carphone warehouse store, and have a fault with it (any fault, even no synch), you will need to kick up a bit of a fuss to get past first line technical support (asking for cancellations often helps...). Alternatively, websites like www.saynoto0870.com often have "better" telephone numbers that will connect you to a support rep who actually has more than half a brain cell

In response to the OP, so long as the router or modem that you purchase confirms it is ADSL2+ compatible (thats ADSL TWO PLUS, not just ADSL TWO) then in theory it should work fine with TalkTalk.

Good websites to check out for ADSL hardware include:

www.ebuyer.com
www.scan.co.uk
www.aria.co.uk
www.computerprices.co.uk
www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk
www.froogle.co.uk

Good luck

if you are representing your company, you should not be promoting other companies that sell hardware in competition with yourselves, I also would imagine CPW taking a dim view of you promoting noto0870 in your capacity also.

fair enuff, im just pointing out some companies can take a very dim view, and its not uncommon for people to get into trouble over it, its best to delete or edit your post in all honesty
