Hi all, this is a bit of a cross post on the aol forum, but i need help.
The bit that concerns me now is will i have to pay BT the 124.99 fee to move from talk talk to aol.
Currently i pay talk talk for my line rental, calls & broadband, although talktalk do not have their kit in my exchange.
In theory, i dont think that i can just give aol my mac code as i will need a bt line again. Will i need bt to take back my line from talktalk?
It's getting confusing since BT have added these new fee's
I dont wont to get stung with this fee after i move.
When i spoke to aol, they said they are an isp and not a line provider. I will need to pay BT for the line, who will sort this out for me? Do i need to do it, or will aol?

If you are not on LLU then you are on a BTw service whether you pay line rental to BT or TT. As such a MAC will be needed for BB migration. As you pay TT for line rental there will be an exit penalty unless you have had your 18 months.
The transfer to AOL should be cost free with a MAC. As AOL and TT are both owned by Carphone Warehouse I doubt whether you will have much of a problem.

Thanks for the reply
Will BT automatically become my line provider again, or will i need to contact them and arrange for the BT option 1 10.50 line rental?

BT will not automatically become your line provider again. I think there are two possible migration paths and you will have to check which will work with AOL. Firstly the cheapest, keeping TT line rental and calls but migrating your TalkTalk BB to AOL. Secondly, and this might result in you getting a new phone number, you could ask for a simultaneous provide of BT for line rental and voice service, and AOL for BB. Both options will need a MAC from TT.
Why are you contemplating this move? AOL BB performance is likely to be similar to TT BB even on a BTw line.

The PS3 is for free.
I was thinking of getting something for nothing, however it may work out more difficult & more expensive since the new BT fee's regarding migrations etc.

A free PS3 requires a 24 months contract with AOL. Also you will need to subscribe to the AOL talk package which would negate the TalkTalk calls package. Maybe you will need to migrate back to BT line rental.

Hello,
The migration back to BT "Reverse Migration" should be free of charge and you should be able to keep your number as you are using the same line. However if you allow BT to set-up a new line for you they will charge you around 150.00 and you will get a new number.
Please also keep in mind the 70.00 cancellation fee from TalkTalk if you are within the 18month contract.
Hope this helps.

How do i request this reverse migration ? I am out of my 18 month talktalk contract and i do not mind a 2 year aol contract.
Although i would still recommend talktalk to anyone.

Hello,
Just call BT and ask them to complete a reverse Migration they will be able to take it from there, just contact TT once BT have given you a migration date so we can ensure that your accounts disconnects correctly
Thanks

Do i need to ask for this reverse migration even if i am not on talk talk's LLU network ?
Still have not jumped ship yet.
