Im not to sure who it was you spoke to, but the broadband faults team is open 7 days a week 8am - 10pm. If your getting a dropping connection there are a few checks that need to be done.
1. Are you connected to the master socket.
2. Is everything filtered that is attached to the phone line ?
3. Remove any extensions
4. Remove everything from the phone line apart from a phone and modem in the master socket.
5. if the connection still drops out here, you need to look around your house and double check that there is nothing electrical that could be causing the connection to drop.
6. If all this is eliminated try in the Test socket behind the faceplate of the main socket.
When you call talktalk they will also ask you if there is any pattern to the dropping connect, e.g is there somthing you are doing when it happens, is it only at certain times of the day, how long have you had the issue for and when the connection drops does the ADSL/Link light go out on the router ?
