I am completely satisfied with talktalk

[link to this post]

Just to let people see the other side of the coin.

I have been with talktalk for several months and have no complaints about them whatsoever. I would not move anywhere else

For 19.50 a month I get free broadband and free local and national phone calls 24/7

When I joined talktalk and had occasion to contact customer service about billing mistakes they were sorted out within a fortnight and I received compensation.

I am on 8mbs LLU and my speed tests show up to 7000kbps and I have only experienced two drop outs in all the time I have been with them. If I wasn't too lazy to sort out the wiring on my extensions I believe my speeds would be even higher.

Talktalk also have an excellent site where fully experienced full time staff are available to assist with any problems, and give advice, not to mention the ordinary members who contribute enormously

I would totally recommend talktalk to anybody.

It seems to be that the people on this forum who do the most whining aren't even with talk, but are the usual trouble-making trolls you get on any forum!

I am pleased to hear things are working fine for you, it is nice to hear

As for moving somewhere else, you would have to pay the full price of 125 to be connected back to BT first so it is a good job you are happy

I will be paying 25 for 16mb broadband, unlimited download, 1.3mb upload, line rental and 24/7 national calls, so just 1.30 per week more than yourself, (PCM basis) but my line stays with BT and I have double the download speed and treble the upload speed you have so I am happy too, or I will be when I leave the nightmare that is AOL CPW.

I have been with AOL for 10 years, but since we have been moved on the CPW servers (same as the ones you are on) things are a total nightmare to say the least, roll on next Wednesday when I move providers!

I haven't paid line rental to BT for years and wouldn't go back to them even if it meant doing without a phone. That shows the high regard I have for them!

"would not go back to them even if it meant doing without a phone"

Which also means you would have to do without internet too

All I am saying is you are tied to talk talk, and the service is not guaranteed to stay good forever, like anything really

BUT, I am glad you are happy, it is always good to hear the positives.

I cannot disagree with you on the point you have just made!

I suppose if the worst came to the worst I would change to Cable, but under no circumstances would I go back to BT for my phone, and it's nothing to do with the 125 reconnection charge!

If it's not too impertinant might I ask who you are moving to.

I wish you well with them regardless!

With "Return To Donor" your line is connected back to BT for free. BT will try and charge you 125 but this is just another way of BT overcharging the customer.

At the moment I am trying 02, mainly because I get twice the download and treble the upload for the same price I am paying now, and also because of the 100 day money back guarantee.

Me too. After the problem I had with actually getting it in the first place it has been great.
faster than my old ISP and the 2 faults I have had with my line have been repaired pretty quickly.

This is all very well, but you will notice that posts complaining about the service usually list what types of net activity are not working. Are you getting 7mb on just port80 stuff, or other things aswell? Is it still that speed during peak times? Is ''within a fortnight' actually good service? considering any mistakes in my billing would be same day, and indeed if my work customers had a billing issue it would be sorted that day. I'm not trying to diss your experience, but some more details would be useful :-)
