Web pages 'stopping' during download

[link to this post]

I also have a problem, mainly with IE but to a lesser degree with other browsers and mainly on certain sites (Paypal is very bad) where apge apparently starts to come to the PC but then hangs .. the progress bar stops (often, apparently right at the end) .. sometimes 'refresh' kicks it off OK, but often it doesn't ..

The browser continues to work OK on other sites while the culprit still doesn't respond .. seems as if some packet? gets lost ..

Is there any way I can find out exactly what is happening?

Sorry I have not replied before ..

Have been away for a week or so, and when I came back I found my Tivo (PVR) hadn't been connecting to tivo computer for its daily update of forthcoming programmes

have been totally occupied with trying to sort it out since then ..

Now talktalk are telling me that because I am on an LLU connection, dial up is not supported .. it worked fine for 18 months .. apparently it shouldn't have done ????

Anyway, for the moment any other problems have been put on the back burner with the gas on very low
