Just spotted this on TALK TALK BUSINESS'S website
http://www.talktalkbusiness.co.uk/help-and-resources...
Might this explain some of the issues we are having?

Definitely looks to be more than just TT, having problems here on AOL for the past few nights aswell now. I was having a read of the TT member's forum and all the traceroutes seem to show problems in as13285.net

Tracing route to bbc.co.uk [212.58.241.131]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

lol..its been horrendous the last 2 days.
my ping in World of Warcraft was ranging between 900-1759.

Pings to even the BBC were up over 300 (normally 19).

whats really hacked me off theres been no replies on this issue on the talktalk forum from the OCE's..and they have had more than enough time to inform people.
I tried to look at the exchange status..but 'my account' has been down nearly all week also.

I knew moving to a cheaper Provider could mean not as good service but pings of 900 im not having that.looks like im going to be moving in 4-5 months if the service is still bad im going to pay whats left of the contract and go back to my old ISP.theres little point trying to save money if the service being offered is pants.

theres clearly been a network issue and its been deeply unfair the OCe's have allowed lots of the threads to go without a Genuine answer what the problems been.

Latency appears to have gone back to normal levels now.

Yep, this is what sparked it off for me too, went into the raid on Wednesday and ping started shooting up to 8k ms. Had to cancel the raid since me and another on AOL had the same problem. As you say it's starting to creep up already aswell.

To be fair to the OCE's, the problems look to have been relatively isolated compared to what started to emerge at 4pm yesterday and the OCE's had probably left off at 5pm for the weekend. However, even if they were on duty, it looks like they wouldn't have been told of any major faults anyway, given the TT network status pages have still not been updated to even mention anything of it. I know some people have gotten a message when logging into their account about problems, but for me it said everything was fine - no problems. Again, it is TT's lack of transparency and communciation (internally and externally) that is letting them down.

Matt,

If one used full or partial LLU at an exchange where the only provider was Opal/CPW with an ISP such as xilo/uno would the connection issues, such as those mentioned in this thread, also effect one's self in the same way as it does for TalkTalk users?

It affects anyone using that network, be it directly or indirectly; MPF or SMPF.

Cheers Matt,

Who is ultimately responsible for the network then - Opal?
