It's unlikely that a new modem is unlikely to make much difference. With ADSL Max, the modem negotiates its own speed for the line stats. With ADSL Max, there are no fixed line speeds tied to line attenuations any more. You will get what your line is capable of, and although this is still tied to the line length, there are no rigourous limitations applied.

No probs. I hope it all works out OK. ADSL Max can be rather annoying during the "10 day training period", with the possibility of frequent disconnections, but after that it should gradually become more stable.
