Ping Rates

I have a problem with my ADSL. I am subscribed to 14Mbs and while playing games online see a particular server with ping rate of between 15-30ms. However when I actually play it spikes up to 4000ms and throws me out, stating too high ping rates.

I recently got a new modem and think something maybe wrong with the settings, as I had no problems with my older one but which operated at lower speed.

Please advice what to look for and what setting to change.

I get fail on two tests but do not know the settings for them.

Attenuation - Upstream (dB): 7.7
Attenuation - Downstream (dB): 22.5

Ping on segment ATM OAM: FAIL
Ping ATM OAM FULLt: FAIL

I regularly play Delta Force BHD Team Sabre on Nova World and my prefered sever is www.realsnipers.com

I used to get nornal sever ping of 15-31ms every time and wiith my previous modem (Comtrend CT-600) used to never get thrown out for having high ping rates from the middle of the game. However this modem only gave me 4MB/300+-Kbs access speed.

So now, what do you think?
