IE6, Outlook and Mcafee problems with D-Link G624T

Recently installed a Dlink DSL G624T router/modem. I can connect to internet using my laptop OK and have no issues with any of the apps I use. The problem is the PC that is connected to the router by ethernet cable!

This PC will not run IE6 or Outlook, it looks as though they are both sending but not receiving. Also I cannot connect to Mcafee's website to do auto updates.

Anyone got any idea?

have you got the right IP address for the router in your network connection settings on the pc
the ip of the router needs to go in the gateway setting.
also you dont say if you can see your laptop/pc in your network
can you exchange files etc between them ?
also check firewall settings it could be the firewall blocking it if the rest is ok.

run ipconfig from cmd box to see what settings currently are
go to start then run, type in cmd. then ok and in the black box that comes up type ipconfig

can ping the pc from the lqaptop and but not the laptop from the pc. Not to worrid at the moment about file sharing etc. Just need to sort out ie and outlook on pc. Have got a work around for McAfee updates, it works ok on my laptop.

ie says it's found my home page, but gives an error when opening the page, I don;t bother sending the report. Outlook sends emails but errors on receiving. This worked OK when I was using a cable network and internet access on my wifes PC via USB modem.

Firefox works OK.
