Hosting with smtp e-mail

[link to this post]

Sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum - but does anyone know of a hosting company that will host a domain name & provide smtp incoming rather than pop3 mail, so that an Exchange server can be used. Unfortunately many of the better performing adsl providers only provide basic e-mail (outgoing smtp & incoming pop3) and I am therefore looking at the possibility of hosting the domain name elsewhere.
Thanks

Gradwell.com do not provide SMTP delivery, but they do provide ODMR which is an envelope for SMTP giving SMTP on demand. You could run an ODMR client between your router and your mail server which runs on a schedule and delivers any waiting mail to your server.

It works like this:
ODMR Client contacts ODMR Ssrver (at the hosting provider's system).
When contact has been established and the client authenticated, the client changes the roles - the ODMR server becomes an SMTP clenti and the ODMR client becomes an SMTP server. The SMTP client then initiates an SMTP dialogue, requesting the server (your system) to accept messages and then sends them. When all messages are sent, the roles are again reversed and the resumed ODMR transactions are closed.
