presumably the ring wire filter will filter in both directions, being a low pass filter. It only needs to pass the ring frequency, anything higher (including voice) can be blocked.

In a preliminary test one of these filtered ringwire faceplates appeared to reduce the impact of a wired extension (with ring wire) by some 75% in terms of downstream sync speed.

Yes it is. The truth of the matter is that internal telephone wiring was never designed to carry RF signals. It really didn't matter too much when we had fixed-rate ADSL, but it's a completey different ball game with ADSL Max.

I had the same problem a while ago. see this post over on Routertech removing the bellwire made a major difference.

An even better test coming up today, runs at 256k downstream with 59 dB attenuation. Extension city, Arizona. I feel a blog entry coming on
