BT Home hub blocking

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes,

My parters son uses on line games but hasent used them for a while until tonight, at which point my laptop (wirless) came up with limited or no connection and my squeezebox boom (wired) would not connect either saying "cannot fined DHCP server"
My question is, has my partners son found a way to block every one else from using the hub so as not to slow his game (we have a [censored] speed, about 250kbs)he is playing his game without any trouble, is it even possable to block the hub as i have described or do i have a problem with the hub

we are using a BT home hub 2

Ask him

First of all yes its possible if he has entered the configuration for the hub and changed settings.
He would need to pretty clued up to do this though.
My advice is change the default password on the Home Hub so he cannot change any settings without the right password

into your browser window and change the default username/password to something more secure
If prompted to input a username/password the default is..
username = admin
password = admin

if that doesnt work he has already changed the password so ground him and take away his pocket money
