Connection Problem.

I have just came from Entanet to Orange in the last month or so . In the last year and a half I have had nothing but trouble with my connection. Entanet always told me my line was fine so I gave up trying to ask them to fix it. My only solution was to move ISP and hope somehow it would fix itself, I know that sounds stupid but I have literally been through everything to try and get it sorted out. At time's my speed can drop right down to speeds of upto 30kbs downloads on servers I would normally get 200kbs on, webpages start to take ages to load and certain icons dont appear ( I think thats the packet loss ) my packet loss spikes up and down from 10% and upwards, sometimes upto 70% . I dont know if anyone is fimiliar with any of this but I was told it might be worth mentioning.

If someone has any kind of advice to offer I would be very greatful as I have been through absolutely everything to try and get this sorted. Im basically paying for something I cannot use alot of the time. At times it can be fine but it's always hit and miss. Most of the time when BT are doing tests on my line the chances are its during the day early before any problems have arrived, so im always told that my connection is fine.

Posting some router stats about your line might help.

How far are you from the exchange.

I think I am LLU yes.

FYI: "Mode: G.DMT" = non-LLU, i.e. IPStream.

Your Sync is rather low and you NM is high. This could mean you have a problem with noise on your internal wiring.

Have you tried plugging your router via filter into the hidden socket behind the faceplate of the BT master socket? You do have filters on all extensions?

Yes I have tried plugging into the test socket, I got the same result as the normal socket. I am using a brand new filter which orange sent out to me just over a month ago, linked straight directly from the BT socket into the filter which then runs into the very next room opposite the BT socket. The router im using is a DG834N and I have also tried using the modem that orange sent out to me, again I am getting the same results. all wires are new bar the extention one that runs from the ADSL filter to the DSL wire that goes into the back of the router, do you think I should try changing this ?

Can you try it without the long extension cable?
