latency rise unsure why ?

[link to this post]

Erm 3 week ago i lost connection to the internet and when it came back on my ping had gone from 19ms to 30ms, reported it to my isp who told me there was no faults showing at either end.
I also had a speed drop from 64/15 to 60/14........
Then today i noticed after being out most of the day there has been another disconnection, now my ping is 50ms and connection speed is 49/14.

I setup a brand new DSL-AC68U modem/router last night.

modem stats > https://postimg.cc/fVf6Q4Fj

Any ideas ?

Yes. The Asus DSL-AC68U has probably the worst possible VDSL2 chipset in existence.(Just Google it to find the horror stories!) So first of all get rid of it and use a modem/router with a Broadcom chipset. I use a separate Openreach HG612 modem, which is quite old but works well on most lines, devices using later versions of the chipset such as the Zyxel VMG8924-B10A (and others) are reported to have better performance but have not used one on my line.

You think todays disconnection is because of the routers modem ?

I can't say one way or the other but it is known to be a very poor modem.

edit: read the thread wrong.

Can you post the DSL stats from the Asus?

It's a horrible modem and I don't recommend it, especially on Huawei cabinets as it is blocked from using G.INP.

Grab some stats, post them, change modem.

I took the guys advice and have sent back the asus.....
Ive got a Archer VR400 installed now over night ive had a ping reduction but its still alot higher than it was 11 months ago.

Interleaving might be on my downstream maybe, and maybe the dlm has put this on because ive swapped routers 3 times now.

My speedtest https://ibb.co/CJ2MB0G ( free image host ) Safe to click wink

My profile was 65/18 im on a 80/20 package for fttc.

Line stats >> https://ibb.co/8r8cDL7

BGM - https://ibb.co/QKVD41G

BTwholesale test > https://ibb.co/k9WsXhF

So which modem router do you recommend ??? I dont want to keep using this budget tplink router for ever wink
