vanishing curser in Chrome

I have recently noticed (perhaps after latest windows update) that the pointer vanishes in Chrome, but visible in IE/Edge. I have tried most suggestions on line without success.

I think you've nailed the issue--it's definitely an update of some sort if it didn't do it before. Too bad updates introduce as many bugs as they fix...
