They were built like tanks. No doubt in thousands of years when us humans have made ourselves extinct some far flung aliens will be digging in the ground and find these handsets in as new condition and marvel at the bell noise .

No, not the nodding donkeys, they need nuking then a super flare, and then firing in to an exploding sun . I'm sick of hearing their horrendous squealing sounds (and I'm a mile away from the train tracks)! Although, I'd agree, even Iran wouldn't take them and got shut of the ones they had!
