A new business Virgin Media Broadband and phone service is required. The order has been dragging on for two months now following a site survey, an aborted installation due to lack of necessary civil works not been done followed by another site survey.
Despite numerous calls to VM to determine the status of this job which clearly involves some civil works to lay ducting followed by an installation team nobody can enlighten me when, or even if, this work is scheduled to take place.
VM was chosen because FTTC is perceived to be no better, and probably worse, than ADSL to this property located at 50 GU10 1DU.
But we can't wait for ever for VM to find a man with a shovel, so we are considering our options for FTTC. Unfortunately the address does not appear in the availability checker, so we can't be exactly sure what the predictive speeds would be to choose between either puting up with VM delays are jumping ship for FTTC.
A further complication is that we are establishing a home office in the rear garden and may moons ago dug a trench from the Cabin to the boundary of the property for the provision of services, all of which arrived in a timely fashion. We could easily drop an telephone underground cable into this trench if same could be provided by BT.
So if you were as frustrated as I am at the moment, what would your course of action be? With thanks in advance for any replies received.
