One touch switch problem

[link to this post]

After a bit of advice please. Left ISP (A) for ISP (B) . Order went through simply using one touch switch it would seem and got an email of activation and a change if IP address meaning all was well and all great so far. Roll on yesterday morning and got a direct debit from ISP A , upon contacting them they said it was a problem and ISP B needed to send a close account request to them. Upon contacting ISP B they said they have no control of what ISP A does and I needed to contact them. Upon contacting ISP A again they admitted there was a "One Touch Switch which is stuck on our end" and "In this case you will have to request from the gaining provider to cancel the switch order. Once you cancel it with the new provider, we will receive a Switch Order Cancellation Request and will be able get the account cancelled as we have discussed".

Sorry but this seems crazy?

Any suggestions on what I can do please?

Cancelling an order for something that has already gone through sounds like a recipe for disaster to me that would likely result in you have no service. One touch switching means you shouldn't need to contact the losing provider at all, sounds like it is a "them" problem but quite how you get them to fix it without losing your service I am afraid I don't know.

You haven't said who the providers are, that might help with any advice people can give.

If you're using ISP B now then just get confirmation from them (in writing) that they sent the switch complete message to ISP A, with the date that happened. As far as you're concerned the switch has completed, as you're using ISP B, this is just an admin issue for ISP A to resolve.

Once you have the confirmation then inform ISP A of the date the switch was made and ask them to calculate your final bill, keep disputing charges under the DD guarantee if they refuse/are unable to sort the billing out. The whole point of OTS is that you don't have to do this dance.

It was Giganet(Cuckoo) to talktalk.

TalkTalk have been very helpful Cuckoo not so much.

Ive been told whilst they couldnt unstick the OTS request (its not part of the specification to be able to delete them apparently)they have done a work around it it is sorted now ( have saved all emails as backup)

Now all ive got to sort is my problem port from O2 to talkhomemobile LOL #nothavingmuchluck
