VM Customer service

Particularly Billing. 3 months running they have taken the direct debit when it suits them. Phoned and e-mailed them to set a suitable date. Even agreed to one of their own suggested dates, and lo and behold, they still try to take the DD 11 days early!
Thankfully the bank we are with rejected it this time. The previous month VM had already put me in arrears with another company after taking the DD early and leaving insufficent funds to cover the other DD.
I've resorted to cancelling the VM DD and making e-billing payments with my debit card when it suits me.
Having said that, I don't miss BT putting our monthly direct debit up to £90 to cover an average quarterly bill of £130!

I don't let anyone debit my current account. I have a prepaid debit card which runs with a nil balance and if anyone insists on pulling money from me (rather than me paying them) they get that card number (VM used to accept card payments I think - not sure if that's still the case)

When I get the bill, I BACS the relevant amount onto the prepaid card.

If they try for too much, or try too early, the transaction is declined and they get nothing, and I don't have to pay any charges.
