Its a mix of both.

If you have a family of 4 all gaming, streaming etc at the same time, like in the evenings then your gonna need some good speed.

If you have a family of 4 but its email, voip, Facebook then you don't need the speed

Or you could be like me as I said before, just not wanting to wait for larger downloads.

It could also be about work and time. Time is money after all.

You do remember that you ordered G.Fast on a 2nd line a couple days ago? You would probably still be going ahead with it if the ISP hadn't cancelled your order.

Why do you need to jump on other people's threads telling them what speeds they do or don't need?

Some people have large families, some work from home, some have hobbies that require more bandwidth.
The fact you don't need more speed doesn't mean nobody else does.

Turns out max was right for once I think, I rang back a few times today and no sign of order everyone is saying, and the price now is more than what I was quoted.

Shot an email off to the CEO/Exec Complaints to see what they can rustle up.

First real issue with them like this on phone, but I'm sure the CEO Team will sort it for me. I usually go to them as a go to, excellent and quick response.

During COVID I'm not sure they're operating to the same capacity though

Just as a reply to this, I spoke to the Exec team and managed to get the 500mb added for £44 a month. Big difference to other prices
