Change in available speed

I keep checking on VM's site what speeds I can get here, Its been M500 for ages and then M600. (I am looking to see if VM bring 1 gig)

But at some point in the past few weeks its dropped to M350 only for my postcode and surrounding aeras.

Other post codes in Peterborough still show M600 as the highest.

Is this down to a network capacity thing in this area maybe? Or some other funky stuff going on?

Same here in Leicester a few months ago, its capacity.

Once they upgrade the network it will go back to M600.

1G will arrive eventually.

I’m on M500 but apparently when doing a check for the whole area / village I live in, the max is now only M200, has been for nearly 2 months. Patiently waiting for M600 to roll out so my package will upgrade but seeing as there seems to be capacity issues, will probably be March 2021!

You wouldn't want M600 where there is capacity issues anyway. You would not be getting what you pay for.

I'd imagine when the majority of the network is DOCSIS 3.1 ready, they'll be able to offer higher speeds again. They've already been trying to move some off DOCSIS 3.0 to help with congestion despite not being on the Gig1 package.

You'll have Gig1 available before the end of the new year.

After months of VM saying max for the area was M200, its now gone to M600, but my package hasn't auto upgraded from M500. I wonder how long till that happens when on the ooomph package.

I've been doing that recently too. It's showing M600 for me.

I would have thought it would have been better PR for VM to turn on individual areas for more headlines instead of just one big switch on.

But as some have said they are supposed to be switching on DOCSIS 3.1 by the end of the year, so not far away.

They have been switching it on bit by bit, a few areas at a time.

Gig1 s available to millions already.

It's been available to me since July (Edinburgh).

i've had it since day 1 here in N.Ireland - no complaints cept with router issue
