Is the Asus acting as a router or as a switch?
Access point lol a switch I would guess. There is no PPPoE or IPV6 only Wifi and LAN in the options when in AP mode.
From Brave AI
An ASUS router configured in Access Point (AP) mode functions as a switch for its LAN ports. When operating in AP mode, the router's four LAN ports act as a standard switch, allowing wired devices to connect to the network.
This setup essentially transforms the router into a 5-port smart switch with an integrated wireless access point.
The WAN (Internet) port also typically becomes a standard switch port in AP mode, meaning any of the five Ethernet ports can be used for the uplink connection to the primary network.
The device operates at Layer 2, placing the wireless network and the LAN ports within the same broadcast domain, effectively making the wireless network behave like another port on the internal switch.
So yes. Its a switch.
