online emulator guidance please

[link to this post]

hi

i would like to produce a online windows 2003 emulator
because i have a small It training website. and i would like anyone to use windows 2003 through a browser instead of
installing the software - something similar to zen emualto r va.zensupport.co.uk/ and temulator www.temulator.com/- i have basic html & css skills
can it be done using html/css or is it better to use java/flash etc which is the best programming language to use,i am thinking
of just using screenshots and then linking them together , but its very time conusming to do. which is the best approach??

thank you
Neil

You'd be best off with flash, that would save a lot of the hassle of trying to undertake something like this in HTML/css...

What you want to do sounds very ambitious. You could submit your question to stackoverflow. This is a help site set up specifically from programmers.

It rather depends upon how closely you want to emulate it. Ultimately it might be easier to just set up Terminal Services access to a real Windows 2003 server.

Yep or allow direct access via vnc. and reset the the machine once a day (ie have 2 hdds and just reminage to the spare drive once a day) ..

Problem with VNC is that, unlike TS, it would only allow one user at a time to access the server (and I have my doubts about it's security - although your second point allows for that).

There used to be a joke website that set out to emulate win 98 iirc. It was pretty funny. Probably not even on the net any more.
