[link to this post]

Evening all ,I was up until recently with Hi-Vilocity but as you know they went t*ts up, I was on max adsl never had a problem with them, but now my connection is [censored] to say the least i am with murphx Innovative Solutions who supplied Hi-V with my connection . I have phoned them and emailed them costing a £1 per min and explained i was on max adsl but they are having none of it your line cannot give you that . i think they have me on 2 meg line now but tbh it,s rubbish probably the worst connection i have ever had, My exchange is Dumfries so not got a lot of choice can anyone recomend what my best options are .

Do you have any idea how much data you transfer per month in gigabytes? e.g. 3GB, 30GB, 300GB?

You don't have any decent LLU choices available to you.

I think for circa 30GB your "best" choices would be between Zen, IDNet, and Vivaciti. Normally the general Entanet resellers would also be suggested but their resold BT connections are no longer the flavour of the month.

I'm afraid I'm not competent to answer that as I've not been following the issues very closely. It is probably worth having a dip in the Entanet forum to see if things are getting better or not.

It's precisely the 21CN ADSL2+ that is causing all the strife for the Entanet resellers.

Just to point out that john2007 included vivaciti in his list. By that I imagine he meant their Surfwise 75 non-Enta product. All the Family ones are Enta-based and you should steer clear of those.

You have no major problem with the ones john2007 suggests as they are all very good ISPs with one-month contracts. I would add AAISP - they have a very small Mon-Fri daytime allowance, but offpeak is big and a short unmetered period overnight.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.

If you wanted to stay on the same product you have with Hi Veloc then we might be able to help, although they did have loads of different products. What did you have with them before they went to the wall?
