But no ISP is allowed to advertise 80/20
Why not, I'm interested in knowing this one ?
TalkTalk - Their Essentials BB package states Unlimited* download allowance but not sure if their Fibre offerings also state unlimited downloads though?
FreeServe @ 56Kbs -> BT Business (ADSL) @ 512kbps -> AOL 2Mbps -> TalkTalk upto 24Meg (19Mbps) -> SkyBB upto 10Meg (8.4Mbps) :: Now, Patiently waiting for FTTC then upgrade to FTTPoD

The latest OfCom rules. The advertised speed for a product has to be attained by al least 10% of the customers using it.
If you look around, nearly all 24Mbps ones now show 16Mbps.

You don't say whether you want phone packaged in. Only EE of the above insist you have your phone with them.

That's advertising! There's nowt stopping peeps discussing the true capabilities of the technologies.
We all know ADSL2+ is capable of 24 Meg given the right circumstances.
Advertising is about statistical samples, not individual capabilities.

You don't say whether you want phone packaged in. Only EE of the above insist you have your phone with them. Uh uh!
BT also insist on the line rental and a calls package being with them, except in a few exceptional cases where posters here claim to have avoided it through being in contract elsewhere.
Only PN of those three has no requirement for the line to be with them.

Did I say anything to the contrary? I didn't mean to.
I thought I merely answered the poster's question as to why no-one advertises 80/20 anymore.

BT will offer BB only to consumers who have phone elsewhere and who phone up to order (Source: Which? & Customer Options Team).

We currently do not require the phone to be with us on our unlimited fttc package.

BT will offer BB only to consumers who have phone elsewhere and who phone up to order (Source: Which? & Customer Options Team). The question is about Fibre. Do BT offer Infinity only to consumers who have phone elsewhere and who phone up to order? I don't think so.

Ah .
Didn't know you did unlimited FTTC, and I was responding to the list given.

Same reputable sources say you can & you think you can't!

Monthly cost notes To get BT's broadband only options you will need to call 0800 800 150 (or 0330 1234 150 from a mobile)

you think you can't! Because there's no Infiinity package without the phone in the price list.

Duh! Sure, in the online price list, but they're saying order it over the phone.
EDIT: Anyway the online price list doesn't list ADSL products w/out phone so this is not just about Infinity.

Duh! Sure, in the online price list, but they're saying order it over the phone. How much is it?
|
|
|
Dunno!
Aye, there's the rub! They won't let me buy BB Only on top of my existing BT Call Plan. I have to merge them in a new contract and lose my existing BT Call Plan discounts. That's how I got to talking with COT who told me I had to have phone with non-BT to be able to buy BT BB Only. I wasn't eligible.
But I guess the price of BB Only must be same as online package list price; they are all listed with the free W/E Call Plan.

Still too spammy, and bringing up old threads without anything material to add does not help.
