I get my max speed on p2p with Ace, around 300kbs on the better torrent sites I use. Same with newsgroups.

Mine isn't encrypted either, but if you want to do that use uTorrent as your client.

Using uTorrent with encryption on or off makes no differtence and i`m probably on one of the fastest torrent sites with 10 times the number of seeders to leechers but still only get 30KB/s to 60KB/s at the moment.

When i start uTottent it shoots off to over 100KB/s instantly then gets dragged back down within seconds.

Not throttling then

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

If turning on encryption does not help then it is unlikely to be a form of Shaping from Mistral/BT or whoever.

People get bad P2P speeds and assume its shaping, when often it could be another problem - who your connected to; your port settings; etc....

I'm also affected by this.

Everything was fine until yesterday morning. Turned on the computer and found speed seemed to be restricted to 60kbit (and uploades restricted to about 10kbit).

That carried on throughout yesterday until the speeds dropped back to 30kbit and it's the same today. Uploads are better at 15kbit today.

If an isp wants to shape bit torrent or any P2P then encryption makes no difference.Trust me on this cause i`ve been there and seen it with Eclipse.

I am also suffering, a little frustrating. WWW and everything else seems to continue to work at good speeds but I'm trying a test torrent of the OOo torrent and i'm getting no more than 25Kbps. For those not in the know, the OOo torrent has many high speed seeders and should almost always max your line. I do not use any traditional p2p services so I cannot comment on those.

Just looked in on the Nildram forum and there having problems to.Just Ace and Nildram just now but Eclipse`s web site has disappeared altogether which is probably unrelated.

Steve will sort this out and find out why is many of us suffered p2p 50kbps all day (even over 6Mbps speed test)

Come on ace, fix it urgent as we pay expensive for no traffic shaping on p2p.

NO, actually you don't pay "expensive". In fact you are getting an absolute bargain. So much so it is only a matter of time before mistral are forced to introduce shaping/throttling. And it sounds like it may have happened. I would only hope that mistral don't do an entanet and leave all their resellers in the dark.
