Should i leave plus.net?

[link to this post]

Hi, Been with plusnet for a year and a bit now after finally migrating from tiscali when all the **** hit the fan with them! Service has been good but my girlfriends bt connection seems faster.

Anyway, Times change and have seen a few new ISP's about like be etc. Wondering if i can get a better deal/service as i should be able to migrate no problem.

Currently on Premier Option 1, syncing around 2700kbps, bras 2000kbps. Usage ranging from 10-20gb a month.

Should i stay or should i go?

There are many reasons besides choice of ISP why your girlfriends connection may seem faster.
Supply some general figures such as how much you're prepared to pay, what you want to use the connection for, if you require email etc and how much data you're likely to transfer on a monthly basis.
If you supply line stats etc we can project what connection speed you can expect.

I moved from PlusNet PAYG to Newnet Home S a few months ago - much better speeds, despite PlusNet's claims that the PAYG package was generally 'unshaped' in comparison with Premier.

Could just be her system is set up better, got less rubbish on, or she simply has a better line/vp at exchange.
You could get a better deal elsewhere, but what sort of downloading do you do ? p2p or newsgroups or are you simply into surf and email with the odd update download ?

Just webpages, Http files and sometimes torrents. Also use limewire sometimes.

Her system isnt better than mine, junked up packard bell.

She is closer to the exchange etc but just wondered if anyone else is better!

Raise a fault ticket with Plusnet. Their support people are helpfull enough.
