Summer Broadband for a Teacher

[link to this post]

A friend of mine teaches at a private school (where they have broadband) and only lives 'at home' for holidays and a few weekends.

He really wants to move off dial-up and I've been trying to help him out but I haven't found anything that would fit his need to have a limited time contract but without costing too much.

The options I've considered so far are:

* A very low monthly fee - maybe with a charge for bandwidth (12 month contract)
* Set up a short-term contract each summer, paying a connection fee each time
* Some kind of 'pause' - pay activation once then pay for packages as and when (does this kind of thing even exist?)

I'm open to any other suggestions, and to any idea of the contracts. So far the total cost over the summer has been pretty high so any suggestions of packages would be great.

Thanks,

All Work

That announcement was for a 1 month suspension not a withdrawal.

I've not seen any update to it however so I do not know whether BT have updated their position on the matter as yet.
