Heavy User Incoming! (Help please)

[link to this post]

Hello people,

I am moving out to the sticks soon and am totally confused regarding Which ISP to go with.

I can only get an 8mb connection, the exchange is 'Lingfield' in Surrey.

I want the following;

Unlimited downloads.
Not TOO bad traffic shaping.

I play online games, P2P, watch streaming Internet TV, browse, email etc...

Thats about it! Any ideas?

Cheers

These two are mutually exclusive unless you pay for it or have access to a LLU operator like UK Online or Be/O2, which you don't.
Something is going to have to give but do you really need unlimited? Best for heavy use on BT Wholesale by a country mile is Entanet, various packages available so for example 30GB peak/300GB off peak for 20 a month, see ADSL24 as an example, but check out Vivaciti, UKFSN, Falconnet etc too.

Steve

unlimited broadband, only 6.49/month!

on a more serious note, as has been said, entanet are your best bet, not unlimited, but clearly defined and huge

there are no unlimited ISPs in the ladybird book definition of "unlimited". They all have FUP clauses to control excessive load on the network. The level at which they kick in may be very high, but they are there.

The exchange is in the side road opposite the duck pond, so if in the main body of Lingfield a decent connection speed should be possible.
