Fed up of Nildram, suggestions please

I've been with Nildram for years but have been having issues with them lately and have decided to change ISPs.

I need an ISP that is good for gaming, but will also support our home office which uses two VOIP phones and two PCs connected to the work server over VPN.

I had been looking at Fast and IDNet, but thought I'd ask here for suggestions before making the jump.

For a reliable and helpful isp then you could do no better than Idnet. Support is via email or freephone. Highly regarded by many as one of the very best providers. They are dedicated to their customers and the service they supply to them.

I thoroughly recommend them.

I can second Alf's advice to try IDNet. After 10 years with Pipex from the best of ISPs to one of the worst, I switched to IDNet in October 2007 and have never regretted it

I've noticed quite a few posts on various forums about IDNet starting off quite good for some people but after a while speeds drop and users suffer disconnects. Other people say that e-mails and phone calls go unanswered, which doesn't sound good.

Don't know if this a real minority but its enough to make me think twice, as I cannot afford to have any more broadband problems.

There have been a few problems not long ago but all is ok now, they were just minor glitches which affected a very few people.
