Which ISP (non-LLU) for monthly contract.

Just moving into an area served by a non LLU exchange. Currently with Sky (on an LLU exchange).

Problem is we are renting a place for 6 months so do not want to be tied into a long contract.

People have recomended NewNet which does seem quite good. Ideally want to spend ~£15 a month with around 8-10Gb download so the 3Gb limit at NewNet seems a bit stingy.

Had a quick look at the freedom2surf site as I used to be with them just before they were bought out by PIPEX.

For peace of mind I'd go with NewNet, Zen, or IDNet. The cost differential over 6 months must be trivial compared to the cheaper ISPs.

Well said.

If he likes Newnet then maybe the 12GB package not the 3GB.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Premium.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.

But what are the cancellation charges?

I have justed had a reply from NewNet that they charge 34.75 if you cancel in the 1st 12 months - which I am obviously going to be doing frown

Give Zen a whirl......they are well sound and play the game to the letter in my experience................. no cancellation fees or other dodgy small print at all ........they are just a little expensive for me, otherwise I would still be with them smile

NewNet tend to charge "unusual events" at cost. You are unusual in knowing you will have a fixed 6 month contract which should make it easier to get an accurate overall cost.

IDNET

No cancellation charges as you are on a 1 month rolling contract, only 1 month notice to give.
