Recommendations for ISP on exchange CMRUGB

Afternoon, I am moving away from Nildram. I already have my MAC Code! Can anyone suggest a low latency gaming ISP?

Currently paying £24pcm for an ADSL2+ service. Ideally would like 16mb/2.5mb enhanced upload.
Currently my household has four users of which two of us are gamers with a need for low ping. The other two users are facebook/ internet browsing users.

None of us are big downloaders, but I like to host game servers every so often for private use (clan games).

We rarely hit 30Gb a month in download useage. I would prefer a ISP which does not traffic shape, throttle and has the option to turn interleaving off/on.

I have an Annex M Router (billion) with QoS. My line length is 1181 metres. Attenuation is 20.7db

As you have C&W LLU I can suggest Xilo.net I am with them, great pings, no caps, no limitations on downloads (I used 140GB last month on my 2mb line) and only £14.99+VAT a month (£17.24).

Customer service is great and although it states up Pro 16 H you will get up to 24mb if you exchange supports it, I'm online gaming most nights, no problems with pings whatsoever.

Because they are LLU, so no IP profiling either, you'll go as fast as you can each time your router connects, there is a one off activation fee of £40.

I know there isn't many reviews out there of them & that was one of my concerns before signing up, but since going over to them 10/10!

The only trouble may be the 2.5mb upload required, although I think you will get 1.3mb as standard you'd have to ask them direct whether they could provide this extra allowance?

thanks Ben, i have been in contact with Xilo. I have not confirmed yet, but the enhanced upload is about 40pcm . What are pings like in the games you play?

Currently with a reduced minimum term of 9 months (though you can pay more for a 3-month one, and £75 cashback available from TopCashBack. So a total first 12 month cost of £183 = £15.25pm.

You can easily have interleaving switched off by support. You can do it yourself via your control panel but the support way gets a further error checking system turned off as well so is even better.

You can also have your target noise margin reduced to 3dB if it is stable enough, which I expect on that attenuation it will be. That should counter the loss of download due to Annex M.

No email service.

If you require the higher upload, I think your best option is going to be with bethere, you can get it cheaper with O2 (same network, different prices) but with O2 you would have trouble getting fastpath enabled, so bethere would be your best bet on their top service as that will give you the 2.5MB upload speed (if you could do with 1.3MB upload, then you could look at us )

Pings are good, you will get the same pings with Vivaciti as in effect they route through the same C&W network, only difference being the price.

I can ping various servers when I get back and post but I regularly achieve pings of 16-30 in l4d and cod to UK servers. When I see what you were using the connection for that's why I thought I'd let you know about Xilo.
