cheap non LLU options

Hi Guys

Trying to sort out broadband for my dad. according to samknowns its adsl/adsl max only no LLU.

He is currently with freedom2surf on a £15 package but the connection is getting progressively worse often dropping well under 1mb mark in the evenings.

His current usage is around the 9-11gb per month so i would be looking for a cap of say 15gb+. He is retired so mostly day time and early evening usage. also looking for something fairly cheap as the state pension does not go far these days.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Top quality - IDNet Home Max. The off-peak hours on Lite probably aren't suitable.

If you navigate round the site make sure you don't get looking at the ADSL2+ packages which are better. If the exchange isn't WBC enabled he can't get those.

Bargain basement - Plusnet, but he is out of the cheap area so after the first three months the prices are £12.99 and £17.99. They have this traffic management, and the unlimited overnight on Value is probably out as for IDNet.

My recommendation - Newnet Home M. You can prepay extra GB if needed, (see the More info button), and unused whole GBs carry over until used. Plus there is a user-settable extra usage allowance that is slightly more expensive. Pre-paying can be done at the lower rate even if already into over-usage so long as it is purchased before the end of the month.

The unlimited overnight isn't worth considering as it doesn't work properly at the moment.
