But there has been ongoing problems with the O2/Be network for months now and perhaps there is a hardening of the line and even though O2 was "unlimited" on the legacy packages there was a FUP of unknown size and unenforced.

Although if that is the case I can see them losing a few moew thousand customers.

....... O2 stopped doing unlimited deals a while ago but given i was on old tariff, I have just kept rolling on and on and hence still on old tariff.....

Can I ask how much traffic you're shifting?

Well according to O2 I am impacting on the local exchange, but i have seen no figures to back this up, the stats they have given me are as follows:

Jan = 147.47GB (which to be honest it what i'd expect on average)
Feb = 59.03GB
Mar = Zero (yea i know Zero, which i know is BS as i stream iplayer stuff on the TV)
April = 258GB Now April could have been higher but to be honest i doubt that figure as well as PC was in bit for a good few days while i rebuilt it, and when it goes back together downloading is the last thing i worry about.

Does anyone know how i can get hold of my old contract with them, i joined them on 2nd Oct 2009
I would like to know how that amount of usage would/could impact an exchange, what are they using for a network ? as far the actual amount of data used that's nothing within the grand scheme of things, there are lots of customers shifting a hell of a lot more than that every month and they haven't heard a peep,

I would be inclined to make a formal complaint in writing to them regarding this, if the response is a negative one then complain to their ADR or ofcom ( if you really wanted to stay) I wouldn't be surprised if they are stupid enough to offer you some cheap offer or so many months ,when you ask for your MAC but of course accepting such would mean agreeing to a new 12th contract

Usage is not paticulary high at all. We shift more than that every single month guaranteed.

Just a heads up the BE network and the BE resellers all use the same network as o2. I would personally move away seeing as you had problems with BE already and also o2.

The BT retention deals are very good and we were offered bt broadband for £14.99 after 1 year. So this is worth considering.

& The total sky broadband price is quite low. Around the £20 - £22 with line rental. Bearing in mind you can get 6 months half price broadband

You can also get £50 cashback atm for broadband

To add resellers are generally more expensive I have noticed.

It's tough to find someone that's cheap enough that offers broadband only. Generally the cheap providers force you to take line rental as well (so they can get profits from calls too).

Broadband only ISPs are generally more expensive to account for the fact that they will get no calls revenue etc.

That would no be an issue if via a reseller, as the reseller is your isp and not &be/o2 retail

Although the Whloesale products use some of the same infrastructure such as the kit in the exchange The VLANS are different for the backaul into the resellers/wholesalers data centers

And most if not all have Peering independent to that of be/o2 retail ,so will in most cases will be a lot different to them, and usage , FUP ect is up to the isp
As for them being more expensive some packages are cheaper than be retails offerings are ,(comparing current prices )

But there are some hidden disadvantages , IP Profiling system and DLM both nearely always steal some sync from the customer, who's advantage does that work to?
Then you have all the other silly nonsense of port blocking /throttling P2P uber aggressively down to 12kbps or similar and the clean feed censoring /blocking system they deploy, no static ip addresses, outsourced /overseas call centers who employ script readers only and are a pathetic excuse for customer support, they must be on a par with talktalk by now , the only plus side to bt is they don't bundle, (non llu) as for the cheap full llu isp (Line rental, calls + DSL ) they may be cheap that is for a reason, they are also a nightmare to migrate away from

The OP's exchange was one of those on Sky's congested exchange list and only 4 -5 weeks ago was problematic according to a couple of former BEing's who migrated
