Just a heads up the BE network and the BE resellers all use the same network as o2. I would personally move away seeing as you had problems with BE already and also o2
That would no be an issue if via a reseller, as the reseller is your isp and not &be/o2 retail
Although the Whloesale products use some of the same infrastructure such as the kit in the exchange The VLANS are different for the backaul into the resellers/wholesalers data centers
And most if not all have Peering independent to that of be/o2 retail ,so will in most cases will be a lot different to them, and usage , FUP ect is up to the isp
As for them being more expensive some packages are cheaper than be retails offerings are ,(comparing current prices )
The BT retention deals are very good and we were offered bt broadband for £14.99 after 1 year. So this is worth considering.
& The total sky broadband price is quite low. Around the £20 - £22 with line rental. Bearing in mind you can get 6 months half price broadband
But there are some hidden disadvantages , IP Profiling system and DLM both nearely always steal some sync from the customer, who's advantage does that work to?
Then you have all the other silly nonsense of port blocking /throttling P2P uber aggressively down to 12kbps or similar and the clean feed censoring /blocking system they deploy, no static ip addresses, outsourced /overseas call centers who employ script readers only and are a pathetic excuse for customer support, they must be on a par with talktalk by now , the only plus side to bt is they don't bundle, (non llu) as for the cheap full llu isp (Line rental, calls + DSL ) they may be cheap that is for a reason, they are also a nightmare to migrate away from
