This is an issue debated quite often here. In a lot of cases the attenuation on a line when using ADSL rises by about 3dB when that line is changed to ADSL2+. (By the way - it is ADSL
2+, not ADSL
+2). In a fair number of other cases this doesn't happen, and the attenuation is the same on both.
We have never had an explanation of this inconsistency, so it is best to consider the possibility, (in my opinion high probability), of it happening on your line. It may be simply down to the router used.
I often use
this graph to provide estimates here. Take it as a reasonable guide, not gospel, and in your case look at 36dB and 39dB.
On that graph I also regard the
Average curve as ludicrously low, and caused by a large number of samples taken from installations with dodgy home phone wiring or worse.
There used to be a slightly better but harder to use graph, but it has been removed from its site. I never downloaded it
