Confused Moving into new Flat

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you can help me. I am moving into a new apartment this friday and want to get broadband sorted ASAP. I have found out the current tenant has line rental and broadband with plusnet.

Once I get to the flat on Friday how do I proced to ordering broadband?
I would like to go for Primus which I believe offer the cheapest line rental
As I work for BT I get free bt broadband which I'd like to use.

Do I find out the telephone line number and contact PRIMUS? then ring BT and order the broadband...

I'm confused whether I need a new line or not.

If primus support sim provide, ask them for a linked order reference number when ordering the telephone line, and use this to link the broadband order.

You wont need a new physical line, but the line is considered new for you as the account holder.

Hi there, I've visited the new flat today, and the line is active I get a dial tone and can dial out. I have the telephone line number, I understand its with PlusNet. Now I'm either thinking of joining BT or Tesco's.

I've contacted Tesco's and they are telling me I need to contact Plusnet to find out the status of the line (whether the previous tenant has put it through for cancellation which I assume he has).

I've called plusnet and they wont give me this info, and have advised me tesco can check the status of the line on the BT Openreach system.

I've called Tesco back who are denying this and wont allow me to order broadband unless I find out if the line is going to be cancelled?

Just spoken to BT who have advised the line will be ceased on the 6th December therefore I wont be able to have broadband setup until after this....now the question is who to join...Tesco or BT? I get free employee broadband but tesco's still works out cheaper and is a 1 month contract which helps

I need something for under £20 a month unlimited+land line. Looking at going for BT line rental now as I get BT broadband free...

If the line still has dial tone it seems unlikely that the line has been cancelled.
Quite how youget the line cancelled I don't know as whoever provided the line will insist the customer has to cancel. It. I would try and contact BT to find out how to get around this. The problem may be getting past thir overseas call centres as I doubt you will get anywhere with them.

If the previous person has moved out, then the onus is on the gaining provider to liase with wholesalers to manage the take over of the line.

O2 All Rounder, but pay £30.63 up front for a monthly contract rather than the 12 month minimum term.

Thanks for the help. I've decided just to for BT as it seems the easiest option. Line going live on the 6th Dec, then I need to order my employee broadband which will take another 5 days..
